The festive period is upon us, where putting up the tree and decorating the home is always exciting. These vintage-feel frames would add a luxe
touch to any photograph, where they are perfect for bringing a dimensional design to life. A golden threadess makes an appearance for the glittery
festivities, ready to adorn the glass canvas.
I was in a steel band for a long time, and playing Christmas songs brings back so many great memories. A favourite melody of mine was the twelve
days of Christmas, where two turtle-dove threadesses capture the musical spirit. For the fabric dresses, I chose a shade of crimson and white for
that festive feel; reminding me of fresh snow and winter berries. The fabric is pinched at the top to make a miniature bodice, where a simple stitch
with a needle and thread creates flared pleats.
Beads and sequins were hand-stitched on the berry chiffon fabric, adding extra detail. Golden paint adds a glistening shimmer to the designs.
I love the element of delicacy, where the colours on the glass cast various shadows against different backgrounds.
The threadesses come to life with the glow of the fairy lights. Perched upon the tree, they sparkle gracefully alongside the other decorations. The
atelier radiates a warm feeling; the perfect space for more inspiration and art to come to life.
The tree put up and adorned, mini Rudolph joins me for adding the final touches. I'm looking forward to spending more time creating art on a
different kind of canvas. It really does feel the most wonderful time of the year.
