We're slowly coasting into Summer, where the thought of sunshine everyday puts a smile on my face. Taking a walk in the park, many daffodil clusters swayed without a care in the world. It's so refreshing, where snowdrops on a previous stroll inspired a shoulder-sweeping design. Back in the atelier, daffodils from my own garden came to blend on a canvas, embodying the carefree feeling,..
As well as magnolia, other floral wonders planted in my garden have also blossomed. Colourful petals soon to follow! As the paintbrush glides on the surface, the bright yellow trumpets shine bright. The easel reminds me of a trellis, adorned with art and real blooms.
The temperamental weather inspired the threadesses to be taking shelter from delicate rain showers. My favourite daffodils are the white and orange hued ones - most likely because they're reminiscent of creme eggs! The sunshine yellow blooms are a little reminder that Summer is on its way. The various colours combine on the canvas; the ladies curving in the wind. A famous poem springs to mind..'Fluttering, dancing in the breeze,,,'
For a tactile element, the sewing machine came into play. Blue skies and golden petals were sewn onto fabric. The daffodil patterned dress will also soon be available in the shop- there's a perpetual feel of Spring when worn! My favourite feature is the neck threads, which can be worn tied in different ways.
Flowers can so effortlessly change your frame of mind. I've just planted a cherry blossom plant to celebrate my birthday and I can't wait to see the first budding fruit. I think back to the evergreen trees standing tall in Winter, and it's a joy to see these emerald leaves sprouting proudly.
